Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Meal Graph collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Meal Graph website, mobile apps, and related services. Meal Graph is an AI-assisted nutrition tracking service.
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us at [email protected].
1. Information We Collect
Account and authentication information
When you sign in, we collect information needed to create and secure your account. If you use Google sign-in, this may include your email address, name, avatar, Google account identifier, and authentication tokens handled through Supabase Auth. We use this information to authenticate you and manage access to Meal Graph.
Beta access and support information
Meal Graph may operate as a closed beta or limited-access service. We may collect email addresses, access request status, support messages, feedback, roadmap feedback, and related admin review information.
Nutrition profile and settings
You may provide or generate nutrition settings, goals, targets, preferred nutrition data source, hydration preferences, birthday, height, weight, sex, dietary pattern, constraints, goals, and other context used to personalize the app.
Meal and food data
Meal Graph stores the meals and food items you create or log. This may include meal names, descriptions, timestamps, meal photos, food item names, brands, ingredients, quantities, nutrition values, user-created foods, quick-add presets, AI-generated estimates, corrections, and related metadata.
Photos and image data
If you upload or capture a meal photo, we process that image to help identify food items and estimate nutrition. Meal photos are treated as identifiable information unless they have been specifically anonymized, because photos can contain background details, packaging, faces, receipts, or other clues.
Location and country context
If you choose automatic location context, Meal Graph may request foreground location permission and use your device's precise latitude and longitude to determine your country through Google Geocoding. Meal Graph uses the precise coordinates only for this country-detection request and stores country-level context, such as country code, country name, and detection time. Meal Graph does not store precise location history and does not use continuous location tracking.
AI processing data
Meal Graph may process meal photos, descriptions, food item data, meal history, nutrition settings, search queries, feedback, and AI process logs through AI services to provide meal analysis, food item estimation, semantic search, settings setup, and meal feedback.
Subscription and purchase information
Meal Graph may offer paid subscriptions with a free trial. Subscriptions may be managed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe web billing. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited subscription status, entitlement, receipt, renewal, cancellation, customer, invoice, or trial-status information needed to provide paid features and support your subscription.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain Meal Graph.
- Authenticate users and manage beta, trial, and subscription access.
- Analyze meals, estimate nutrition, support food search, and personalize settings.
- Store meal history, user-created food items, quick-add presets, feedback, and preferences.
- Debug errors, investigate abuse, protect accounts, and enforce our Terms.

- Improve app quality, AI accuracy, nutrition matching, search ranking, and user experience.
3. Use of Meal Data to Improve Meal Graph
Meal Graph may use meal data, meal photos, feedback, inaccuracy reports, AI outputs, and process logs to improve the app. This may include internal review of identifiable meal records or photos when reasonably needed for support, debugging, safety, abuse prevention, quality review, or AI accuracy improvement.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified data, such as common search failures, nutrition-estimation error patterns, feature usage, and overall quality metrics, to improve Meal Graph. We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI Providers and Third-Party Model Training
Meal Graph uses third-party AI and infrastructure providers, including Google AI services and Supabase Edge Functions, to process requests. These providers may process your inputs and outputs to deliver the requested service, maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
Meal Graph does not permit third-party AI providers to train their general-purpose models on your meal data or photos as part of our use of their services, except where processing is necessary to provide the service or as otherwise required by law.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
We share information only as needed to provide and operate Meal Graph, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or with your direction. Service providers may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and edge functions.
- Google for sign-in, AI processing, embeddings, and geocoding.
- Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe for subscription billing and trial management.
- Static hosting and infrastructure providers for serving the website and app assets.
Meal Graph uses public nutrition databases and sources such as NEVO and CIQUAL to provide nutrition references. Those sources do not require us to share your personal meal data with them.
6. Security
Meal Graph uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect user data, including Supabase row-level security, private meal photo storage, short-lived signed photo URLs, HTTPS/TLS, account authentication, and secure token storage where supported by the platform.
No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your account and device secure.
7. Retention
We keep account, nutrition, meal, food item, photo, subscription-status, feedback, and support information for as long as needed to provide Meal Graph, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and protect the service.
You can request deletion by contacting [email protected]. We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, billing records, security records, or legal records where necessary.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, including in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or parts of the United States, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also withdraw optional permissions, such as location or photo access, through your device settings.
To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. International Processing
Meal Graph may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers through our service providers and applicable law.
10. Children
Meal Graph is not intended for children under 16. If you are under 18, you should use Meal Graph only with permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Meal Graph changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method. The latest version will be posted on this page.
